Individualized programs for gastroparesis designed to combat chronic malnutrition.

Treating gastroparesis isn’t typically as simple as a 10-point list of lifestyle adjustments. The severe dietary limitations imposed on individuals with gastroparesis by their own bodies means it’s crucial that you know what your daily nutrient needs are and how to realistically meet them—especially on days when eating is difficult.

If you are in need of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for gastroparesis, please review the service area information below to confirm whether Regina is able to work with you.

What does MNT include?

  • Regina will review (and, if follow-up appointments are scheduled, monitor) your bloodwork to ensure any nutrient deficiencies are addressed.

  • Regina will help you understand the “why” behind everything you are doing together.

  • Regina will analyze your food diary to ensure your caloric and nutrient needs are being met.

  • Regina will help you plan ways to get adequate nutrition even on days when eating is a challenge.

Service area for MNT

Due to differing state laws regarding the licensure of dietitians, Pomona is currently only able to legally provide medical nutritional therapy (MNT) to individuals who are physically located in one of the following states at the time of their appointment: Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Michigan, and Virginia.

If you reside outside our current service area and wish to book a telehealth appointment with us for MNT, we invite you to submit a request that Regina consider applying for licensure in your state.*

*There is no guarantee that your request will be fulfilled as there is a cost—ranging from approximately $50 to $300—associated with applying for licensure in every state, as well as renewing the license every couple of years. For a small business, these costs are not insignificant. In addition, not every state offers reciprocity to dietitians who are licensed elsewhere in the U.S., which means the pathway to licensure may not be simple. However, if there is enough demonstrated interest in a given state, it would make sense for Regina to pursue licensure in that state—so don’t be shy about letting us know you’d like to work together!
